I. Arrival

Duncan's eyes are already wandering when his mother, Meg, goes up to pay for room and board. It's not the first time he's been to the Inn, but he always enjoys taking a look around it. Even after all these years, it seems exciting when they travel!

For the first time, he's got a short sword strapped to his belt. His mother has been training him, and she finally said he was ready. Like any twelve year old boy who's been given a new and important responsibility, Duncan is practically beaming with pride. He's absolutely careful to make sure that he doesn't take the sword out in public.

While his mother is talking to the inn keeper, Duncan makes eye contact with someone and smiles.

And yes--if anyone has seen Drizzt's human form, they might notice that he looks very familiar.

II. Play

While Duncan was careful about his sword in public, he's--actually, he's still careful in private as well. He's going through drills to practice, having found a quiet spot just behind the Inn. At worst, he's close enough to shouting difference that he shouldn't be hurt.

Of course, just because he's being careful and going through drills doesn't mean he has to do them quietly.

"I've slain you, you foul ruffian! Never again will you torment Castle Inn!" Duncan keeps his voice low, but speaks fervently.
